Boys
Section -
The Madrassa
is now in its 45th year, it is now located at the premises of Al Muntazir
Islamic Seminary about 15 minutes away from the city centre. The Madrassa
is enjoying the facilities of the school premises, the classroom set up
is very good, with less noise/disturbance to other classes.
The Madrassa operates thrice a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) from
6.45pm to 8.10pm. There are a total of 375 boys of ages 9-17, in the 15
classes. The younger boys attend the girls section. 21 teachers
assisted by 15 assistants teach Diniyat, Akhlaqiyaat, Tarikh and Namaaz.
While duas and recitation of the holy Quran are optional. The average
attendance for Quran classes is about 90 students or 25% of the
student population.
Activities :
- Quran awareness programme: July 2001
- Parents week: - August 2001
- Qasida/drama/talkshow programme: Oct 2001
- Quran hifz / Quran on Science program was organized with the direction
given by Islamic Education Board of World Federation - Dec 2001
- Various lectures were given by our community members on volunteerism
and Pariki / Paan hazards
AV Multimedia Room:
Excellent facilities for teachers to teach and students
to learn in the best method through the TV, overhead projector, computer
etc. It is being used by teachers and students to show practically various
religious practices like wuzu, namaz, religious films and alike. This
enhances the instructions and lectures, which are being given in the classes.
Quran Classes:
These extra Quran recitation classes are held from
5.30 to 6.30 pm three days a week. There are 5 teachers teaching almost
90 students.
Girl's Section -
Details :
Number of students : 933
Number of teachers : 80 (which includes assistant teachers)
Division of classes :
1 & 2 10 classes attending Monday & Wednesday
from 4pm to 5.30pm.
3 to 11 25 classes attending on Saturdays 8.30am
to 12.20pm
Class 1 to 5(BOYS) under girl's section :
Following the success of class 4 under girl's section,
class 5 was also integrated successfully into the system this year Practical
Salaat
It is held in Madrassa as follows :
Tuesdays class 3, 4 and 5 4pm to 5.30pm
Wednesdays class 6, 7, 8 & 9 4pm to 5.30pm
Quran recitation classes
It is held as usual for every individual student on Saturdays.
Introduction of diary system (as a means of communication
between parents / teachers & students)
This system enables the teachers to:
- Have easy access to student information like phone no, address, parent's
signature etc.
- Record comments and observation of the students progress in each subject
for the benefit of parents .
- Enter important notices and messages for parents .
- Enter homework, assignments, projects etc.
- Maintain daily Quran recitation record .
- Maintain daily prayer record .
- Teachers of higher classes reflect upon verses of the Quran
with their students, printed on each page of the diary.
Syllabus Review
This is carried out through heads of departments and administration
relevant changes are made in keeping with current needs and progress.
Terminal and annual exams
This was held in May/June and Oct/Nov 2001 respectively.
Other Activities:
- Parents/teachers meeting.
- Quran recitation during month of Ramadhan.
- Duas read by students during the month of Ramadhan.
- Reflections on the dua conducted by Raziabai Janmohd during Ramadhan..
- Quran hifdh programme for ages 13 to 18yrs.
- Quiz program.
- Eid graduation.
- Banatul Islam performed following activities during the year :
a) How to cope up with death?
b) Life after death
c) A day dedicated to teachers
